Bogart SE 5 User manual
If you had not read this medium before or if it had been
changed since the last time, you must ‘import new’.
After a moment, the file names of the pictures stored on the
CD/DVD will be displayed in the list (photos on CD/DVD/USB)
on the left side. The picture currently active in the list, is dis-
played at the top right.
Additionally, information related to this picture is displayed
at the top left of the window. If you click on the Info button,
a window will be called up in which additional information (if
available) related to the picture which is selected in the list on
the left will be displayed, such as date, pixels, camera model
and more. Images included in a show can also be played di-
rectly from a storage medium. To do this, click the play button
in the menu (or on the remote control). The show will start with
the currently selected image and then continue automatically
from there. If you only want to see the image as a full frame,
click the button to the right of the display button in the menu
(or the full-frame button on the remote control). To see the next
image in full-frame mode, please click the left trackball button.
This will allow you to browse through all the images in the list.
Press the Options button to call up a window with special
functions:

•Additionally,theselectionbuttoninthiswindowenablesyou
to decide whether you want to create albums. You can create
folders with the following possibilities:
- ’Do not create album’ imports the single photos without an
album structure. All images are imported into one long list.
- ’Create album name from date’ creates a new folder for every
day (date) you have created photos. If you have taken pic-
tures during a 7-day vacation, this will result in 7 folders.
- ’1 album is upper directory name’, ‘2 album is lower direc-
tory name’ and ‘3 album is full path’ are only useful if you are
importing images that have been edited on a PC and will then
be saved on a medium (USB, CD/DVD). As an example: the

7.2.4 Photo archive
In the main menu, press ‘9’ to enter the photo archive. This
archive is used to record photos from digital photo cameras,
organize, edit and present them. The following menu shows
you that we have already created two folders with photos:
If you haven’t yet imported photos, the list will be empty.
The photo archive can import photos in JPEG (JPG) format
and edit them, making it compatible with most digital photo
cameras. Pictures in RAW format or those already edited on
the PC with a progressive JPEG storage (optimized for Internet
use) may not be loaded properly. Importing pictures is similar
to importing into the film archive. Please read chapter 2.2.4 for
more information.
7.2.4.1 Photo import options
If you would like to import pictures now, you should go to the
options list and click on the button for importing pictures, in
order to select the source for your import action.
If your pictures are stored on a (e.g. created by PC) CD or
DVD, you should select the appropriate source, open the DVD
drive, insert the Photo CD/DVD and close the drive again. If the
pictures are stored on a storage card, you should connect an
external card reader to the back of your device, via one of the
USB ports. The card reader is automatically recognized by the
system. If you have already stored the pictures on a USB-stick,
you should connect the stick to a USB port. It is of course also
possible to connect a camera to your DVC system, as long as
it is suitable for this.
If you want to import images via the network or via UPnP, the
software will look for any sources and list those found. Once
you have selected the source, you should import them with
OK, Add. If you only click on OK, only the contents of the
medium that were already known from the previous import will
be listed. This does not include changes on the medium. This
way, there is no new reading time, which can be quite long if
there are lots of files.
